24hrs.
Develop against the clock

Come and join our efforts to unlock the potential of new technologies in the food service industry and gastronomy for the first time - it will be a weekend of combining our love of food and technology.

The goal of the GastroHackathon is to solve gastronomy oriented challenges and create new solutions in a rapid prototyping format. To achieve this goal, four partners will host real-life challenges and participants (startups, students, innovators, entrepreneurs) will develop new prototypes in only 24 hours directly at the GAST Messe'19 in Salzburg.

The Challenges.
Challenging but fun

Technology was always a fundamental part of the restaurant and hotel business, enabling better customer service and more time for enjoyment and consumption. At the Hackathon participants have an opportunity to take a step into the future of gastronomy by solving specific real-life challenges of partner companies:

Hotel Challenge

Personalisation is an emotional driver for Hotel visitors to feel welcome and appreciated. What technological solutions could make the experience of the guests more included and close to the Hotel?

Restaurant Challenge

Customers expect good food and good service when they visit a restaurant. What technological tools can help the owner of a restaurant to engage and serve their customers and make the experience even better?

Tourism Challenge

When people decide on a vacation the available options are almost limitless. What service can be useful when deciding on the next trip for people, who want to have a holiday experience that is off the mainstream path.

Food Challenge

The buying experience became less personal than it used to be. How can technology help sellers and producers to become more personal to their customers?

Participants.
You are welcome!

Participants are students, employees, freelancers, experimenters. Different perspectives help creating new ideas.
